Plastic Free

In 2018, the University of Genoa accepted the invitation from the Ministry of the Environment to companies and public administration entities to become “Plastic free” and from CRUI (Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities) by developing initiatives to reduce single-use plastic, including providing students and employees with a personalized water bottle with the UniGe logo, installing draught water dispensers connected to the water supply network, and raising awareness among students, faculty and technical staff about the importance of reducing plastic pollution.
This initiative will eliminate the consumption of more than 200 tons of plastic and the emission of more than 1,300 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
