Since 2019, following its participation in the dedicated Consip agreements, UniGe has been using certified electricity from renewable sources to cover the entire annual electricity demand of its buildings.

Currently, the estimated demand for all university-owned buildings is approximately 15 GWh per year. As a result of purchasing 100% green energy, it is estimated that more than 2,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions are avoided annually.
