The University of Genoa has been actively promoting sustainable mobility for several years, by supporting mindful choices with the aim of reducing the environmental impact associated with the academic community’s travel habits.
The University Mobility Manager, Ilaria Delponte, coordinates the programme of actions and therefore acts as a key figure in the planning and promotion of good practices for mobility. The strategies and actions are defined in the document Home–University Travel Plan, which involves actions to promote local public transportation, the reduction in the use of private transport, the reduction in the mobility demand, as well as to support cycling and walking.
The planned activities are also implemented through the collaboration with local organisations, local and regional public transportation services and local shared mobility activities. Associated to this, there are then specific economic incentives for the mobility of the academic community, as well as specific initiatives and projects.
