As part of the Festival Blue, on June 5th, 2026 at 6:00 PM, the Genova Blue District will host an evening entirely dedicated to algae, their study, and their many existing and potential applications in production sectors. Researchers and industry professionals will explore the potential of this raw material and its possible uses in the food, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and medical fields.

The evening will include:

• a roundtable discussion, moderated by Mariachiara Chiantore, UniGe professor of Ecology, and Beatriz Castelar, president and co-founder of RegenERA
• a hands-on experience in an exhibition area, where visitors can taste products, listen to stories, and explore algae using microscopes
• an algae-themed live cooking show, created by the Union of Ligurian Chefs with chef Ruggero Di Luca
