Monday, July 6th, 2026, will mark the opening of the "33rd Colloquium of the International Geographical Union Commission on the Sustainability of Rural Systems (IGU-CSRS) – RURAL SYSTEMS IN AN AGE OF LOCAL AND GLOBAL MOBILITIES" in the Aula Magna at Via Balbi 5.
This is the annual event of the International Geographical Union's Commission on the Sustainability of Rural Systems, which brings together geographers from many countries around the world.
Following the opening ceremony in the Aula Magna, sessions will continue at the Albergo dei Poveri on Monday afternoon and throughout the day on Tuesday.
At the end of the two days of sessions at the venue, guests will take part in a field trip designed to showcase local dynamics related to rural systems, visiting the Beigua Regional Park, the Val di Vara Bio-district, and the Cinque Terre National Park.
