UniGe, Suq Festival 2025

The University of Genoa will join the 27th Suq Festival - Theater of Dialogue, which will take place June 13-22, 2025 at the Porto Antico of Genoa, with more than 100 guests and 60 events.
This year's theme is Destinies in Motion, and the focus falls on women's issues, migration and the environment, with initiatives going from theatrical performances to concerts, from meetings to book presentations, from workshops to showcooking, to best practices and Eco Suq initiatives.

In particular, Sustainable UniGe and Genoa University Press (GUP) will be present on three occasions with activities and events related to the themes of environmental and social sustainability. The proposals come from UniGe's collaboration with the Festival organization and Cittadini Sostenibili, an association that collaborates in the creation of the EcoSuq program, which includes educational activities, meetings, and good practices related to the United Nations Agenda 2030 with its 17 goals for sustainable development.

With the support of a microbiologist, girls and boys will have fun manipulating the food pyramid and, choosing the right foods they will have to compose a balanced dish to diversify their microbiota. At the end, participants will be able to take home the “Good Eating Habits and Lifestyle Goose Game” to continue to explore what they have learned with friends and family.

Tuesday, June 17 - h 5 p.m.
OLTRE LA SOGLIA: GETTING OUT OF GENDER VIOLENCE
During the panel discussion, journalist Silvia Isola of Il Secolo XIX will dialogue with Linda Buondonno and Andrea Giachetta, who edited the volume Cohousing and coworking for women victims of violence and fragile subjects, Daniela Bagattini, author of the book Male Violence Against Women (both published by GUP and available in Open format) and Tiziana Cattani, who will talk about Coop Liguria'sDire Fare Amare” project.
"L'immagine della Soglia" tells about gray areas, something near accomplishment, dealing with transitions. It tells of something that one leaves behind and something that one is going towards; in the end, it is about possibilities. And it is to the crossing of a specific threshold, male violence against women, that this meeting is dedicated on. Between sociology and architecture there will be a dialogue on how services and spaces can support women in their paths out of violence, intervening in the co-creation of possibilities.

Friday, June 20 - h 7 p.m.
