UniGe e Tetis Institute alla UN Ocean Conference 2025

The Department of Civil, Chemical and Environmental Engineering - DICCA of the University of Genoa and Tetis Institute, a UniGe spin-off, are participating in UNOC3, the Third United Nations Conference on Oceans (Nice, France, June 9-13, 2025), which in particular in the side event “Ocean Assist: coalescing scientific knowledge, stakeholder involvement and finance in support of a Regenerative Blue Economy” (June 13, 2025, 2:45 p.m., in the Green Zone of the conference), contributing to the discussion on the regenerative blue economy.

“Our participation in UNOC3 reflects the University of Genoa's commitment to blending research, innovation and social responsibility,” says Adriana Del Borghi, UniGe vice chancellor for sustainability. Projects such as Ocean Assist show that it is possible to build an economy of the sea that benefits biodiversity, climate and coastal communities, with the active contribution of academia and production."

Co-directed by France and Costa Rica, the conference is a global event dedicated to the conservation and sustainable use of the oceans, which aims to accelerate action and mobilize all actors for the protection of marine ecosystems and the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14 - Life Under Water.
