The University of Genoa hosts the national conference “University research on gender-based violence. A national comparison.”
Schedule
The day will begin at 9:15 a.m. with institutional greetings from
- Maria Carmen Usai, Director of DISFOR
- Rita Bruzzone, Councilor for Equal Opportunities of the Municipality of Genoa
- Silvia Salis, Mayor of the city of Genoa
Next, at 10 a.m., the opening speech will be given by Bailey Gerrits of St. Francis Xavier University (Canada) with a reflection on punitive justice and prison feminism: "Carceral Feminism and the Spectacle of Justice". During the morning, there will be time dedicated to the project GENOMA Violence, led by the University of Genoa.
The afternoon will be dedicated to cyber violence, digital spaces, young people and adolescence, as well as discrimination against the LGBTQI+ community.
The day will conclude with presentations by Stefano Ciccone (University of Rome) and Barbara Poggio (University of Trento), followed by the presentation of the new edition of magazine AG - About Gender, entitled "Rethinking gender-based violence through structural and transformative lenses".
