Summer 2025: hot days record

The historical series of climate data of our Meteorological Observatory , set new records for the summer of 2025, confirming the trend toward increasingly higher values of abnormal heat, as already seen in previous years.

In terms of overall average temperature, this summer was not the hottest on record, but it still ranked third with a value of 25.6°C, behind only the hotter summers of 2022 and 2003. This was due to the long period of pleasantly mild temperatures caused by the influence of the Atlantic anticyclone that characterized almost the entire month of July and the beginning of August.

The seven hottest days of 2025 were:

  1. August 15, 2025 (maximum temperature 37.3°C)
  2. August 16, 2025 (maximum temperature 37.2°C)
  3. August 11, 2025 (maximum temperature 37.1°C)
  4. August 13, 2025 (maximum temperature 36.7 °C)
  5. August 12, 2025 (maximum temperature 36.6 °C)
  6. July 2, 2025 (maximum temperature 35.7 °C)
  7. August 11, 2025 (maximum temperature 35.6 °C)

The ranking of the hottest days in the historical series rarely includes more than one day in the same year, as such high peaks are usually isolated cases. For this reason, seven days in a single year can definitely be defined as an anomaly.
