As part of the implementation of the Climate Strategy and the Home–University Travel Plan, the University of Genoa provides the academic community with concrete measures to encourage sustainable mobility choices and reduce the environmental impact of academic travel. These incentives are designed to discourage the use of private vehicles by promoting public transport and shared mobility options.
The measures, developed in collaboration with local authorities and service providers, apply to:
- home–university journeys by members of the academic community
- staff business travel
- personal travels by members of the academic community
Local Public Transport – AMT Genova

- Discounted AMT U26 passes (local public transport)

Treins
- Students
- Discounts on Trenitalia U19 and U26 passes (regional rail transport) Information available on the Regione Liguria website.

- Enrolment in Trenitalia for Business for staff missions, with discounts on high-speed trains (Frecce) The service can be activated by writing to unigesostenibile@unige.it. Further information is available on the dedicated webpage.
In addition, a welfare offer is currently being activated.
Sharing mobility
Framework agreement with the electric car sharing service in Genoa, providing:
- Discounted rates for fully electric car sharing for students and staff
- The possibility for staff to use shared electric cars for business travel
Cycling Mobility
UniGe has installed 37 bicycle racks at various University locations in Genoa and Savona, as well as at the premises of CUS Genova and some Aliseo student residences, to support cycling among the student community.
