Human rights and citizenship rights. Beyond normative nationalism

If rethinking citizenship and identity in a more open and flexible way is crucial for a fair and supportive society, how can we ensure that mutual recognition and cooperation become the pillars of a sustainable future?

The University of Genoa is hosting the conference “Human Rights and Citizenship Rights: Beyond Regulatory Nationalism”, organized by the Istituto italiano di Bioetica  and ETHOS, to open a discussion on the link between human rights, citizenship, and identity, emphasizing the challenges that global society must face in order to build a future based on solidarity and mutual recognition.

The event will take place on October 15, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Aula Magna del DISFOR, c.so A. Podestà 2, Genova.
