Christmas Lecture

The Christmas Lecture, organized by the School of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences (SMFN) of the University of Genoa in collaboration with the non-profit cultural association Science is Cool (SCOOL), is back with the title: “AI and convivial technologies. Social, ethical, and environmental aspects of machines calibrated with (lots of) data.

The meeting will be held on Monday, December 15, at 5:00 p.m. in the Aula Magna of the University of Genoa, Via Balbi 5.

In the fifth edition of the Christmas Lecture, we will talk about how centralized artificial intelligence, controlled by Big Tech, has become socially, ethically, and environmentally unsustainable. We will discuss the risk of AI becoming a technology of domination and a tool of war in the 21st century and whether a “convivial” AI can exist.

The event is aimed at the general public and school students.

Free registration is available at this link: eventbrite.it, subject to availability.
