30 Years of Research and Outreach - Beigua Geopark

The University of Genoa, in collaboration with the Beigua Geopark, has organized an event on April 24, 2026, to celebrate 30 years of research and scientific outreach in the region.

The event will take place at Casa del Parco in Sassello and will feature a series of technical and academic presentations aimed at exploring the achievements of the Beigua UNESCO Global Geopark and current efforts to promote geodiversity.

The main topics covered will include:

  • Geodiversity and the Territory: Analysis of the geologist’s role in education and tourism, and presentation of the regional geosite registry as a conservation tool.
  • Scientific Research: In-depth discussions on local geology and new paleontological findings in the Geopark.
  • Geoconservation: Discussion of threats and risks to the geological heritage, with a focus on new approaches to geosite management.
  • Promotion: Strategies for discovering and communicating the geological heritage through the experience of the Park’s guides.

The event is open to everyone, but registration via the dedicated link is required.

The event offers Professional Development Credits for teachers at all levels (S.O.F.I.A. 103939), certified nature guides, and geologists registered with the professional association.
