As part of UniGe's Sustainability Policies, UniGe's Climate Action Plan has been established by the University Sustainability Commission and approved by the academic bodies in November 2025.
The plan includes both a climate change mitigation plan and an adaptation one. The mitigation plan outlines the path and actions that will be taken to achieve climate neutrality by 2030, setting short- and medium-term targets and long-term goals towards net zero emissions. The climate change adaptation plan aims to increase UniGe's resilience, its ability to adapt to ongoing climate change, and is based on the Liguria Region's Climate Change Adaptation Strategy (SRACC), integrated with its own procedures to be adopted in the event of weather alerts and guidelines for the prevention of risks associated with exposure to extreme temperatures.
