Green Everywhere - May 23

From Friday, May 22nd to Sunday, May 24th, the Botanical Garden will host the pilot edition of the Biodiversity Festival “Verde Ovunque” (Green Everywhere).

Three days dedicated to environmental and natural science topics, in the field, featuring workshops, guided tours, talks, exchanges, and activities designed to explore nature and biodiversity.

Saturday, May 23rd Programme

  • 9:30 AM – Mindfulness in Nature. Reconnecting with the natural environment while benefiting from the positive effects of trees and forests on physical and mental well-being. The focus is on the five senses: what you see, hear, smell, and touch. Bring your yoga mat.

  • 11:30 AM – Introduction to Birdwatching: talk. An introductory lesson to birdwatching: common sightings, how to identify them, and how to support them.

A journey through seeds, leaves, and other wonders of meadows and forests. “Observing is the first step to knowing”: this workshop teaches how to observe plants, learn their names, and discover some of their secrets. At the end, each participant receives a packet of seeds and a certificate as a “Green Explorer”.
  • 4:00 PM – Urban Trees: talk. What is the life cycle of an urban tree? Understanding it helps us learn how to preserve and coexist with it. Followed by a thematic guided tour.
  • 4:00 PM – Nice to Meet You, Botanical Garden: guided tour. Tall trees, hidden insects, and flowers that tell stories. What can we find in the Botanical Garden? A visit to uncover its history, its plant collections, and the ongoing adaptations of the plant world to a changing environment.
