Green Everywhere - May 24

From Friday, May 22nd to Sunday, May 24th, the Botanical Garden will host the pilot edition of the Biodiversity Festival Green Everywhere (“Verde Ovunque”).

Three days dedicated to environmental and natural science topics, in the field, featuring workshops, guided tours, talks, exchanges, and activities designed to explore nature and biodiversity.

Sunday, May 24th Programme

  • 9:30 AM – Botanical Drawing. An observational drawing workshop immersed in the calm of the Botanical Garden. Paper, pencils, ink, and pens will be provided, but participants are free to use their own materials and techniques.
  • 9:30 AM – Piante dalla Thailandia (Plants from Thailand): talk. Lorenzo Camerini, a young biologist from Genoa who spent a year in southern Thailand, presents some of the most unusual and fascinating plants he encountered.
  • 9:30 AM – Mindfulness in Nature. Reconnecting with the natural environment while benefiting from the positive effects of trees and forests on physical and mental well-being. The focus will be on the five senses: what you see, hear, smell, and touch. Bring your yoga mat.
  • 10:00 AM – The Scents of the Garden: guided tour. A guided tour to discover the essences and fragrances that inhabit the Botanical Garden.
  • 10:30 AM – A Drop of Life. A surprising discovery: just a drop of water and a microscope reveal a hidden world of life invisible to the naked eye. (Age 6+)
  • 11:00 AM – Insect Watching. Field observation activity to learn how to recognize insects living in the garden and understand their essential role in the ecosystem.
  • 11:30 AM – Compost at Home?! A workshop on composting and how to create a compost bin on your balcony, terrace, or in your garden. (Ages 0–99)
  • 11:30 AM – Sherlock Elm. A puzzle game based on natural clues such as leaves, soil, pollen, and seeds waiting to be solved. (Ages 12–99)
  • 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM - Free visits to the Botanical Garden
  • 2:30 PM – Insect Watching. Field observation activity to learn how to recognize insects living in the garden and understand their essential role in the ecosystem.
  • 2:30 PM – Sherlock Elm. A natural mystery game based on leaves, soil, pollen, and seeds. (Ages 12–99)
  • 2:30 PM – Exotic Fruit Plants: talk. Sergio Carlini presents a booklet published by the Friends of the Botanical Garden Association on exotic fruit plants.
  • 4:00 PM – The Inhabited Garden: guided tour. A journey to discover the habitats and animals that live daily in the Botanical Garden.
  • 4:30 PM – Plant Swap. Share your passion for greenery: bring and exchange seedlings, cuttings, and seeds with other plant enthusiasts.
  • 4:30 PM – Green Explorers. A workshop to learn how to observe plants, recognize their names, and discover some of their secrets. (Ages 8–99)

All events are open to the public but have limited capacity and require free registration.
