The disconnection rooms in UniGe

The University of Genoa is inaugurating the first two “disconnection rooms” at the Department of Pharmacy (DIFAR): new spaces dedicated to the well-being of the academic community, designed to help restore mental and physical well-being and provide opportunities to carve out moments of silence, concentration, and restorative breaks away from digital stimuli.

In a university environment where hyperconnectivity and information overload risk compromising concentration, serenity, and quality of life, these spaces represent a fundamental safeguard. The “disconnection rooms” allow the development of mindfulness, emotional self-regulation, and stress management, contributing to a more sustainable and humane environment.

The initiative was launched within the framework outlined by the University of Genoa’s PAP – Positive Action Plan 2022-2024, with the support of the PRISMA project – Promoting Individual and Social Resources in the Academic World – and the contribution of the Zonta Club Genova.
