Start of the tour of Italy of the "Genova Mare Film Lab"!

It starts from the University of Genoa the fifth of may with 20 students that won the call to partcipate at this free  course-laboratory about the cinema and the sea.

Camilla studies medicine at the University of Genoa, Davide studies scriptwriting at the IULM of Milan, Mobina is specializing on graphic arts and editing from Iran, Josefina from Spain, Nithin from India, Lorenzo that studies at the Torin's polytechnic. Them and other 15, between students with the average age of 24 and a great passion for cinema and enviromental commitment, had been admitted and selected for the "Genova Mare Film Lab" of 5 days in the University of Genoa.

In the first meeting, monday 5 of may at the headquarter of architecture of the University of Genoa, had met who will accompany them in this adventure. 

First of all Max Mizzau Perczel, director of "Pianeta Mare Film Festival Internazionale" of Napoli, at its third edition, and the director and screenwriter Valerio Ferrara, winner of the 26th year of the award "la cinef" of the "Festival de Cannes" 2022, with "il barbiere complottista", short film for the end of the course of the national school of cinema Experimental Centre of Cinematography, chosen between 3.000 newcommers directors under 30 from all around the world.

Later on the partecipants had listened to:

  • Adriana Del Borghi, vice changellor of UniGefopr sustainability
  • Marco Giovine, President of "Centro del Mare UniGe"
  • Claudio Oliva, director of "Genova Blue District" and of the "Job Center"
  • Edoardo Brodasca, director of "Posidonia Green Festival"
  • Luca Tixi, co-founder of "OutBe" and "Outdoor Portofino"
  • Serena Gallone, co-founder of "Blackwave"
  • Flavia Francese, of "Tetis Institute"

In the next days the participants will work in groups and will go around the city and surroundings and will be guided by Elisabetta Abrami, film and documentary editor awarded in the "David di Donatello".

Finally, friday 9 may it will be held the conclusive event open to the public "Tra Cinema e Mare" with the showing of the short films made, the award ceremony, inverventions of experts and partecipants and the opportunity to make experience on themes about the sea. This edition will be the first measured by the enviromental impact, foot print, thanks to a study of the young researchers of Tetis Institute, University of Genova's spin off.
