Introduced SEAGUL, the innovative platform for urban development

SEAGUL (Socio Economic Empowerment of Urban Landscape), an innovative digital platform, which the technological core has been entirely elaborated and developed by a team of UniGe researchers and professors, has been presented on July 8, 2025 in Genoa, at a seminar, organized by ISTAT in collaboration with the Municipality, entitled "Socio-economic conditions of cities and their suburbs. Data and cartograms from the City of Genoa."

piattaforma Seagul

SEAGUL stands as an advanced digital service that leverages sub-municipal granularity data to measure, monitor and manage urban complexity, with a special focus on social inclusion and economic development.

The prototype, developed under Spoke 1 of the RAISE Robotics and AI for Socio-economic Empowerment project, was illustrated by Monica Bruzzone.

Currently available in a prototype version for Genoa, SEAGUL makes it possible to query indicators and datasets through intuitive graphical visualizations designed to facilitate interpretation even by non-expert users, confirming the university's commitment to applied research at the service of the territory.
