Adriana Del Borghi, Vice-Rector for Sustainability at the University of Genoa, will take part to the event “Nature to tackle the challenge of climate change: business and urban regeneration”, promoted by UN Global Compact Network Italy and RemTech Expo, with the active participation of the University of Genoa, during COP30, the United Nations Climate Change Conference taking place in Belém, Brazil, from November 10 to 21, 2025.
The event will take place on November 14th, 2025 at the Italian Pavillon, from h 1.30 to 3 pm local time.
It will focus on the role of companies, institutions, and territories in protecting natural capital and promoting urban regeneration. On this occasion, Professor Adriana Del Borghi will present the University of Genoa’s Climate Action Plan, recently approved by the University Sustainability Commission. The Plan outlines concrete measures to reduce emissions, promote energy transition, and strengthen cooperation between universities, institutions, and local communities.
Since 2015, the University of Genoa has participated annually as an accredited observer at the COPs, the United Nations Conferences of the Parties where member countries discuss strategies to achieve the global climate objectives established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). COP30 is particularly significant as it marks the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol and the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the Paris Agreement.
UniGe, represented by the Vice Rector for Sustainability Adriana Del Borghi, will also take part in two other events. Learn more on the University magazine, UniGe.life, and on the dedicated page of the UniGe Sostenibile website.
