The conference "Liguria and the Sea"

On Thursday, 2 October, at 3:30 p.m., the conference "Liguria and the Sea" will be held - from the present to the past to plan for the future: small-scale fishing and its environmental, socio-cultural and economic sustainability; an event in collaboration with the University of Genoa.

The conference will analyse the multidimensional aspects of small-scale fishing in the Ligurian Sea, with a focus on regulatory and operational issues. Through a retrospective analysis, it will highlight how, even in the past and in the absence of intensive exploitation, there was awareness of the problem and practices aimed at conserving fish stocks existed.

The conference will be moderated by Mario Pestarino, President of the Ligurian Academy of Science and Literature, speakers will include Paolo Guidetti, Genoa Marine Centre, Anton Dohrn Zoological Station (SZN), and Andrea Zanini,professor at the University of Genoa.
